D-ring

A D-ring is a (usually) metal ring, shaped like a 'D' with one flat side and one curved, generally fastened to clothing for use as an attachment point for ropes or other items. The flat side of the ring allows it to be more easily attached to clothing without having to worry about the curve of an O-ring.
