Fetish Fair Fleamarket
The Fetish Fair Fleamarket (or FFF) is a semi-annual event sponsored by the New England Leather Alliance that is held in the Boston area. While the most visible focus is on vending, more recent Fleamarkets have included classes and fashion shows.
The FFF goes out of its way to encourage education among those attending, and aims to provide a safe environment for gay and straight kink-curious people to learn more. With this in mind, the dress code at FFF events tends to be aimed at ensuring that people are properly covered to comply with local ordinances, rather than requiring them to display a certain minimum level of kink for admission.
With the long-lasting success of the Boston Fetish Fair Fleamarkets, the FFF concept has been expanded to include other cities. The first FFF held outside of Boston was in Atlanta, GA in 2006, and 2007 saw the first FFF in Charlotte, NC. A number of other cities are in the works for future FFFs, including
- New Orleans, LA
- Philadelphia, PA
- Detroit, MI
- Albany, NY
- Seattle, WA
- Cincinnati, OH
- Chicago, IL
The organizers are actively looking for local activists and organizers to help expand the FFF to other areas, and the director, Cecilia Tan, invites interested parties to contact her.
