Punk is a loose term for a range of clothing styles made popular in the 1970s by Vivienne Westwood and Malcolm McLaren. It often includes leather and latex clothing and bondage gear. It was influenced by, and has influenced, skinhead style, and was also important in the development of goth.
Steampunk is a variant of punk based on the styles of steampunk fiction, so is a cross between punk and 19th century styles.
