Thumbcuffs

Thumbcuffs look like a miniature version of handcuffs. Their basic functionality is the same, to keep the hands close together at one point, but that point is the base of the thumbs rather than the wrists.
Thumbcuffs are different from handcuffs in the sense that, albeit likewise unbreakable by the wearer because they are made of strong metal, the force that can safely be exerted on the thumbs (which are easily broken) is much less than what can be inflicted on the wrists.
Thumbcuffs may also be used to hold the big toes together; they are than usually called toecuffs.
