Tom
The early latex clothing catalogues in Germany during the 1950s and 1960s usually had drawings of the designs instead of photos (mostly because that was "safer" for the publishers).
TOM was the best known fetish illustrator in Germany at that time, developing his own unique style somewhere between comic-book style and Airbrush, anatomically correct and with his unique way of drawing reflections of latex to give it that shiny look. He also invented lots of outfits and new bondage ideas. His women all look very similar, probably because they were all based on his wife Uschi.
Later, he also illustrated books and eventually collections of his drawings appeared.
Because he sold many of his original drawings to various buyers and apparently never kept a full archive, many of his drawings are now lost to the public. Also some books have used his drawings without permission.
Books
Besides the many German fetish fiction books that used his drawings legally or illegally, there are at least two "best of" collections of his work:
- "Best of TOM", ISBN 3980258211, Wuppertal 1990
- "The best of TOM", Moers 1990
