West Coast Rubber
West Coast Rubber is a men's latex and fetish weekend event held in Los Angeles, CA every September.
The very first West Coast Rubber kicked off in Palm Springs back in 2005. L8XDad and L8XBoy came back from Mid Atlantic Leather that year and decided that something similar was needed for rubber kinksters on the West Coast. The response was unbelievable. Over 100 rubbered up guys descended on Palm Springs for the Labor Day event. There were lots of pool parties and nightime events due to the desert climate.
In 2006 a couple of new events were added at the instigation of the über-kinks from the Lone Star Rubber Corps - the Grassy Knoll Vac Rack-a-Thon and the Rubber Penetration to end the weekend where everyone geared up one last time and go to the movies followed by dinner.
2007 goes down as the sexiest event of all time. A clothing-optional hotel was used as base and had not one, not two, but three separate play parties around (and in) the pool. It just didn't stop all weekend!
In 2008 the event was moved to Los Angeles and the Eagle LA was made 'home base'. Typical events you can expect to enjoy are the Rubber Meat n Greet, the Full Gear Dungeon Party, the Rubber Dinner (everone's favorite!), the Slime Pit and of course the Mr West Coast Rubber Contest. The winner from WCR goes on to compete in Chicago at the over-the-top Mr. International Rubber contest.
In '09 there was an addition of a VIP package holder reception at Stockroom/ Syren which was tons of fun. The contest was moved to Oil Can Harry's where everyone enjoyed the larger venue.
2010 was our 6th year of gear all in the name of kinky, pervy fun. 2010 events were held at the Syren/Stockroom reception area where the new Mr. WCR was announced, the Friday night party and Saturday slime pit at the Eagle LA, the Full Gear Dungeon Party in Studio City and pool party in the Hollywood Hills on Sunday.
In addition to the full WCR Weekend, the organisers also do the WCR Winter Warm Up weekend in February at the sexy Helios Resort in Palm Springs and produce the Anvil Club Extreme Dress Code parties throughout the year just to keep the gear cravings under control. They do marketing at Rub Out at the Eagle LA on the fourth Friday of every month and at HAWT Gear at the Bullet Bar in NoHo on the 4th Saturday of each month.
West Coast Rubber actively supports other West Coast events, and there is a movement to have better community fostering between the West Coast cities.
At the 2010 event, it was decided to move West Coast Rubber back to Palm Springs, most likely in February, effectively taking over the Winter Warmup event.
However, no event seems to have been held since 2010 and the website is dead.
