Hold-up

A hold-up is a type of stocking designed to stay up without the use of suspenders. This is achieved by having a band of latex inside the stocking top.
Such stockings are easier to put on than normal ones because they dispense with the need to put on a suspender belt and fasten the suspender clips. Also, the tops do not get distorted from the pull of the suspenders. However, many people dislike them because they lack the visual impact of normal ones.
Another way to get stockings to stay up is to use garters.
Stockings made entirely of rubber can often stay up by themselves, so can be regarded as hold-ups.
